Hello, is this group by chance active?
Not really sure how this works but I have some things most people don't know about. D:
So I have a manga : O-parts hunter/666 satan
Games : Fable II (everyone says it sucks, but I love it.)
BlazBlue (best anime fighting game evar?)
Gauntlet (Yes.)
Warhammer 40,000 (Hell Yes.[Board Game])
Movies : Mirror Mask

Sorry if this isn't what you're supposed to do. x.x I just thought I might throw some ideas out. x.x (I can't Make art look pretty :c)
It's my honor to be invited xD
Two game series that I feel should be added:

*StarTropics (Zelda-styled adventure with island flair)
*BattleClash/Metal Combat (giant robot combat and the reason for owning a Super Scope)

Both were made by Nintendo of America, which means that they don't exist in the eyes of Japan (they didn't even get referenced in Smash Bros. Brawl).
I almost forgot about StarTropics until it popped up on the Virtual Console.. *Buys and adds to list.*

Going to refresh my memory with BattleClash before I add it...

Ya earned an invite and sorry for the late reply..
Just add Alien Soldier thanks for the reminder and thanks to roms & emulation I played Alien Soldier and damn Treasure for only releasing that forgotten classic only for Japan & Europe...

What does PSIV stand for? Are ya talking about Phantasy Star IV? (I think everyone knows that classic now..)

Earthworm Jim I can't count as a Buried Treasure and don't think that classic will be forgotten now... There's over 3,300 fanart on DA plus there's a HD Remake on the Xbox 360 now (Hopefully they will release it on PS3 also..) selling like hotcakes so we will see a 2nd remake sometime in the future..

Only thing underated about Earthworm is the Sega CD port of Earthworm Jim and the Sega Saturn port of Earthworm Jim 2 which puts the SNES & Genesis ports to shame...

Samples -
Earthworm Jim on Sega CD
&
Earthworm Jim 2 on Sega Saturn

As for Contra.... Contra is a classic that will never be forgotten so I can't put it on that list there.. Now that ya mention it, I never played Contra on Sega Genesis.. I played the ones on my NES, SNES, and on the arcades which ya can buy the arcade game on your 360 for $5 each... :)
thanks for the interest =)
for the buried treasures let me add ftm :

alien soldier , PSIV (who needs the onlinegames, when you can have a story like THIS)
vector man, if it goes on like this earthworm jim will soon count as such, tristar
compared to snes the rather unknown contragame for genesis, whic is the best o-O

.. fff too many
